History

The joint company of Latvia and Sweden –  “Laskana” was founded in 1993, and rapidly became one of the timber trade leaders in Latvia. The origin of “Laskana” is found in the company “Duna” (founded in 1991), where Gundars Bojārs, who was a commercial director, together with Gunvalds Vēsmiņš established the company.

The present partners from Sweden were encountered as the result of an unsuccessful deal, when a freight was sent to Sweden, which had not actually been sold to the factory.

Since the company was established, the collaboration has enhanced and timber is sent not only to Sweden, but also to Denmark, Norway, Finland and other countries.
